Responsibilities
- Maintain park grounds, athletic fields, and recreational facilities through daily upkeep and seasonal projects
- Operate park equipment safely including mowers, irrigation systems, and hand tools
- Assist in organizing community events, sports leagues, and youth programs
- Enforce park rules and regulations while providing excellent visitor assistance
- Conduct routine facility inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Collaborate with staff to implement seasonal beautification projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in recreation management preferred
- 6 months+ experience in park maintenance or customer service role
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse community members
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
