Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain park facilities, playgrounds, athletic fields, and walking trails
- Lead community recreation programs including youth sports, senior activities, and special events
- Perform routine park maintenance including landscaping, trash removal, and equipment inspections
- Enforce park safety regulations and provide visitor assistance
- Collaborate with volunteer groups for park beautification projects
- Prepare activity reports and maintain accurate facility records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in recreation management preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in park maintenance or recreational program coordination
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Basic knowledge of turf management and horticulture practices
