As a key member of our operations team, you'll ensure Anchorage's parks remain safe, clean, and enjoyable for residents and visitors. This seasonal role (May-September) provides hands-on experience in facility maintenance, event support, and natural resource management.
Responsibilities
- Maintain park grounds, trails, and recreational facilities through daily inspections and upkeep
- Operate maintenance equipment including mowers, trimmers, and hand tools safely
- Assist with park event setup, crowd control, and visitor support
- Implement seasonal landscaping projects and vegetation management
- Perform snow removal and winter maintenance during shoulder seasons
- Report safety hazards and maintenance needs to supervisors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Alaska driver's license with clean driving record
- Basic knowledge of park maintenance practices and equipment operation
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments
- Customer service skills with ability to assist park visitors
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Preferred: 1+ years of groundskeeping or facility maintenance experience
- Preferred: First Aid/CPR certification
