Responsibilities
- Answer and screen incoming phone calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate department or personnel.
- Manage and maintain accurate electronic and hard copy filing systems for departmental records.
- Assist with the intake process for public visitors, ensuring all documentation is complete and organized.
- Perform data entry tasks, including updating databases and generating reports using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prepare and distribute meeting materials, agendas, and minutes for departmental meetings.
- Provide general information and assistance to the public regarding city policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; additional clerical certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or office support role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening as per city policy.
