Responsibilities
- Engage with residents through community events, town halls, and informational booths to promote city programs and services.
- Assist in the distribution of educational materials and resources regarding public health, safety, and municipal services.
- Answer inquiries from the public via phone, email, and in-person, providing accurate and timely information.
- Update and maintain community databases and outreach logs to track engagement and feedback.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders, non-profits, and neighborhood associations to build strong community partnerships.
- Assist in the coordination and logistics of neighborhood improvement projects and clean-up drives.
- Prepare reports on outreach activities and community feedback for department leadership.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in Public Administration, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service, community outreach, or public administration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement available).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, as required by program needs.
- Familiarity with Houston's local geography and community resources is a plus.
