Responsibilities
- Record Keeping: Manage and maintain accurate court records, files, and documents in accordance with legal standards.
- Customer Service: Assist visitors with inquiries, direct them to appropriate departments, and provide courteous assistance.
- Data Entry: Input case information, legal documents, and financial records into the court management system with high accuracy.
- Communication: Answer phone calls, take messages, and communicate effectively with judges, attorneys, and court staff.
- Filing & Archiving: Perform daily filing duties, ensuring all legal paperwork is organized and easily retrievable.
- Administrative Support: Handle mail distribution, photocopying, and other general office tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required; some college or vocational training in office administration is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a legal, government, or clerical setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer operations.
- Typing: Must have a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to spot errors and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Professionalism: Ability to interact with the public professionally, even in stressful situations.
