Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting visitors and answering inquiries regarding DMV policies, fees, and procedures.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently, including license renewals, vehicle registration, and title transfers, using state-specific software.
- Verify the validity of documents and ensure compliance with all state regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records and data entry in accordance with NCDOT security protocols.
- Manage high-volume customer traffic with patience, professionalism, and a focus on de-escalation when necessary.
- Collaborate with team leads to streamline workflow processes and improve overall service delivery.
- Keep the service counter area organized, clean, and welcoming for all visitors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous customer service experience, preferably in a government or high-volume retail setting, is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing speed (35+ WPM).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
