Responsibilities
- Analyze federal pension applications and service records to determine eligibility under FERS and CSRS plans.
- Calculate retirement annuities, including adjustments for disability, survivor benefits, and part-time service.
- Conduct one-on-one consultations with federal employees to explain complex pension statements and benefit options.
- Ensure all documentation meets strict OPM (Office of Personnel Management) and agency compliance standards.
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll departments to resolve discrepancies in service credit and compensation data.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records for all pension-related inquiries and cases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent work experience in government benefits).
- Strong understanding of Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and pension calculation software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced government contractor environment.
