Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and pursue relevant grant opportunities from federal, state, foundation, and corporate sources
- Develop persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents aligned with funder priorities
- Collaborate with program staff to gather data, draft compelling narratives, and prepare accurate budgets
- Manage grant application calendars, ensure compliance with submission requirements, and maintain meticulous records
- Conduct post-submission reporting and stewardship activities to build long-term funder relationships
- Analyze funding trends and provide strategic recommendations to expand our grant portfolio
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local/regional funding landscapes and policy changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Communications, Nonprofit Management, English) or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of professional grant writing experience with proven track record of securing $500k+ annually
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with portfolio demonstrating successful proposals
- Proficiency in grant databases (e.g., Candid, GrantStation) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Deep understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and budget development
- Strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail and deadline management
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments
