- Advise state employees on retirement plan options, contribution limits, and vesting schedules
- Ensure compliance with Georgia Code Title 47 (Retirement Systems) and federal ERISA regulations
- Prepare comprehensive benefit statements and annual retirement plan communications
- Collaborate with payroll and HR departments to resolve benefit discrepancies
- Maintain confidential participant records in secure state databases
- Conduct quarterly audits of pension plan contributions and distributions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Deep knowledge of defined benefit plans, 401(a) structures, and government retirement systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (e.g., Oracle HCM)
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to financial details
- Excellent communication abilities for explaining complex benefit concepts
- Georgia state government security clearance eligibility
- Experience with pension compliance audits preferred
