Responsibilities
- Administer Federal Pension Plans: Review and process pension eligibility requests for federal employees in the Wichita and North Carolina regions, ensuring adherence to FERS and CSRS guidelines.
- Customer Service Support: Provide detailed, accurate information to clients regarding Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) withdrawals, survivor benefits, and retirement calculations.
- Data Integrity: Maintain and update pension records, ensuring all documentation is filed correctly and audit-ready.
- Compliance Checks: Conduct regular audits of pension files to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Communication: Collaborate with the payroll and HR departments to resolve complex pension-related issues efficiently.
- Documentation: Prepare correspondence and reports related to pension status and benefits processing.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in pension administration, benefits coordination, or federal customer service is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) regulations.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with pension management software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on client confidentiality and empathy.
- Availability: Must be available to work a part-time schedule (e.g., 20-25 hours per week) with some flexibility for meetings.
