Responsibilities
- Analyze employee eligibility for federal pension plans and Thrift Savings Plans (TSP).
- Calculate and review pension estimates, ensuring accuracy in benefit projections.
- Provide detailed counseling and guidance to employees regarding retirement options and eligibility dates.
- Maintain confidential and organized records of all pension applications and correspondence.
- Collaborate with the payroll and benefits departments to resolve complex pension discrepancies.
- Assist in the development of training materials for government staff on pension updates and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience working with government pension systems, specifically FERS and CSRS, is required.
- Strong knowledge of federal retirement laws, tax codes, and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
