Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems with precision and efficiency
- Dispatch appropriate law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel based on call priority and protocols
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation for investigative purposes
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during critical incidents until help arrives
- Operate multiple communication channels including radio, telephone, and digital systems
- Collaborate with officers and other agencies using established radio procedures
- Participate in ongoing training to master department policies and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM) with computer proficiency
- Exceptional communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure and multitask effectively
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Valid California driver's license required
