Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and accuracy
- Operate radio systems to coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses
- Enter and maintain detailed information in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during active operations
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance emergency response skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM)
- Excellent communication and active listening abilities
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Must be available to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
