Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy and empathy
- Operate CAD systems and radio equipment to coordinate police/fire/EMS responses
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Multi-task during high-pressure scenarios while prioritizing critical information
- Collaborate with officers and first responders using standardized protocols
- Provide pre-arrival emergency instructions to callers when appropriate
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM)
- Excellent communication and active listening abilities
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized systems
- Must reside within 30 miles of Fort Wayne, IN
