Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls from the public using CAD systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units with precise location and incident details
- Maintain real-time communication with first responders during critical incidents
- Operate radio systems, 9-1-1 equipment, and multi-agency communication platforms
- Document all calls, actions, and unit status in compliance with NIMS protocols
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques for callers in distress
- Participate in continuous training on new technologies and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 45 WPM typing speed with 95% accuracy
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Fluency in English/Spanish bilingual skills (highly desirable)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- U.S. citizenship and minimum 21 years of age
