This role supports the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget in researching, analyzing, and recommending solutions to complex policy challenges. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate program effectiveness and ensure alignment with Georgia's strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze legislative proposals and regulatory impacts using quantitative/qualitative methods
- Prepare concise policy briefs and recommendation memos for senior leadership
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and public comment reviews to inform policy decisions
- Monitor federal/state legislative developments affecting Georgia's programs
- Support budget analysis and performance measurement initiatives
- Present findings in clear, accessible formats to non-technical audiences
- Maintain accurate documentation of research methodologies and sources
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 2+ years of policy research or government experience (internships accepted)
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or STATA)
- Exceptional written communication with portfolio samples required
- Knowledge of Georgia's legislative process and state agencies
- Ability to manage competing deadlines with minimal supervision
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
- Georgia residency required (or willingness to relocate)
