Responsibilities
- Perform routine street maintenance including pothole repairs, signage installation, and lane striping
- Assist in park and facility upkeep including landscaping, equipment operation, and debris removal
- Support stormwater management through drain clearing and erosion control measures
- Operate light machinery including sweepers, mowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Participate in emergency response crews for weather-related incidents and public safety events
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and departmental maintenance standards
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in outdoor conditions year-round
- Basic mechanical aptitude with experience operating hand/power tools
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and emergencies
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Preferred experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal maintenance
