Responsibilities
- Organize, catalog, and digitize historical state records using archival standards
- Assist researchers with document retrieval and reference requests
- Maintain accurate inventory databases using TSLAC's records management system
- Preserve documents through proper handling, storage, and environmental controls
- Support public outreach programs and educational initiatives
- Process incoming records according to state retention policies
- Collaborate with team members on special digitization projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Basic knowledge of records management principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail with organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Valid Texas driver's license (for occasional off-site document transport)
- Background check required for state employment
