Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology
- Perform pat-down searches and bag inspections to detect prohibited items and potential threats
- Monitor airport operations and maintain constant vigilance for suspicious activities or unattended items
- Operate complex security equipment and document screening activities accurately in TSA systems
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers while enforcing security protocols professionally
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff during security incidents and emergency situations
- Adhere to TSA policies, SOPs, and federal regulations at all times
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successfully complete TSA's training program and obtain required certifications
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure
