Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray and metal detection equipment to screen passengers and baggage for prohibited items
- Conduct thorough physical searches of individuals and carry-on items when necessary
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining strict security protocols
- Report security concerns and suspicious activities to supervisors immediately
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Participate in regular security drills and training exercises
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency status
- High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid government-issued photo ID
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency for operating screening equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
