Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray machines and manual detection techniques
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and walk-through metal detector screenings
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activities or items
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger identities
- Operate baggage screening equipment and resolve alarms efficiently
- Maintain accurate logs of security incidents and screening operations
- Provide courteous assistance to travelers with special needs or accessibility requirements
- Adhere strictly to TSA Standard Operating Procedures and security protocols
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license or state-issued photo ID
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a high-security environment
- Basic computer proficiency for operating screening equipment
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
- Must be at least 18 years old and willing to work irregular hours including nights/weekends
