Responsibilities
- Manage daily pension plan operations including contributions, distributions, and record maintenance
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and annual audit requirements
- Develop and implement member communication strategies for retirement planning
- Analyze investment performance and prepare actuarial reports
- Collaborate with HR on employee onboarding/offboarding for retirement eligibility
- Lead system upgrades for pension administration software
- Present plan status to Finance Committee and City Council
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years pension plan administration experience in public sector
- SPBC or QPA certification required
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS 5500 filings, and Colorado PERA regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration systems (e.g., NGEN, Milliman)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in actuarial reporting
- Excellent written/verbal communication abilities
