Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan compliance with state/federal regulations and OPEB accounting standards
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and survivor claims
- Develop educational materials for participants on retirement planning options
- Conduct audits of pension records and financial transactions
- Collaborate with investment teams on funding strategies and actuarial valuations
- Respond to participant inquiries via phone, email, and in-person consultations
- Prepare annual reports for legislative oversight and public transparency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or retirement benefits experience
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Ohio Revised Code
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or Certified Public Pension Professional (CPPP) preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities for complex benefit explanations
- Valid Ohio driver's license for occasional travel to regional offices
