Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans for public sector employees
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and audit requirements
- Process retirement applications, disability claims, and survivor benefits
- Develop educational materials for participants and employers
- Analyze pension data for actuarial reporting and funding projections
- Collaborate with investment teams on funding strategies
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding retirement benefits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and NC General Statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Millennium Plus)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
