Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan administration including benefit calculations, distributions, and participant communications
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Washington state pension laws
- Develop and implement retirement plan policies and procedures aligned with fiduciary standards
- Conduct complex financial analysis and forecasting for multi-billion dollar pension portfolios
- Collaborate with legal, accounting, and investment teams on plan governance matters
- Lead system implementations for retirement plan record-keeping platforms
- Prepare comprehensive reports for trustees, regulators, and plan participants
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Advanced knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) and pension regulations
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Albridge)
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC) preferred
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder engagement
- Experience with public sector retirement systems highly desirable
