Responsibilities
- Administer defined-benefit pension plans for 50,000+ government employees
- Process retirement applications, calculate benefits, and maintain participant records
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and NM state statutes
- Conduct financial modeling and actuarial valuations of pension assets
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding retirement options and benefits
- Collaborate with investment teams on portfolio performance analysis
- Prepare regulatory reports for NM State Investment Council
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, or related field
- 3+ years pension administration or benefits management experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a)/403(b) regulations
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Ascensus)
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or QKA designation preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle confidential financial data with discretion
