Responsibilities
- Manage pension fund disbursements, contributions, and record-keeping with precision
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Tennessee state pension laws
- Process retiree applications, benefit calculations, and annual reporting
- Collaborate with auditors, legal teams, and state agencies during reviews
- Maintain confidential participant data using secure government systems
- Respond to participant inquiries during night shift hours (8 PM - 4 AM CT)
- Conduct benefit eligibility verifications and special handling requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or retirement plan experience
- Proficiency in government financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Knowledge of ERISA, IRS 5500 filings, and Tennessee pension statutes
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for complex calculations
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours
- Valid U.S. driver's license and reliable internet connection for remote work
- FBI clearance and background check required for state government role
