Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for Georgia state employees including contribution calculations and benefit disbursements
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Georgia state pension statutes
- Manage participant communications regarding retirement planning, eligibility, and distribution options
- Conduct regular audits of pension fund investments and actuarial valuations
- Collaborate with HR departments to process retiree paperwork and resolve benefit inquiries
- Generate comprehensive reports for stakeholders including the Georgia State Board of Pensions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or similar designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Georgia pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Empower, Albridge)
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial data accuracy
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for complex benefit explanations
