Responsibilities
- Manage retirement plan administration including member contributions, benefit calculations, and distribution processing
- Ensure compliance with Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS) regulations and federal guidelines
- Provide comprehensive pension counseling to employees and retirees regarding retirement options
- Oversee plan investments, perform financial analysis, and prepare annual actuarial reports
- Develop and implement pension policies while maintaining accurate member records
- Collaborate with finance department on budget forecasting and pension liability management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- OPERS certification or equivalent retirement system knowledge preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, HRIS systems, and pension administration software
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication abilities for complex benefit explanations to diverse audiences
