Responsibilities
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and contribution adjustments for public employees
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Washington State pension laws
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding retirement planning, distributions, and vesting schedules
- Prepare quarterly reports and audits for regulatory bodies and stakeholders
- Collaborate with investment teams on funding strategies and actuarial valuations
- Develop educational materials on retirement planning for public sector employees
- Utilize pension administration software (e.g., NaviPlan, Milliman)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in benefits administration, finance, or customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical skills
- Familiarity with pension regulations (ERISA, IRS 401(a), RCW 41.50)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential data with discretion and integrity
- Basic knowledge of investment principles and retirement planning concepts
