Responsibilities
- Manage complex pension fund administration including benefit calculations, distributions, and record maintenance
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and California state pension laws
- Develop and implement strategic retirement plan policies aligned with fiduciary responsibilities
- Collaborate with investment teams to optimize fund performance and risk management
- Provide expert guidance to retirees, beneficiaries, and HR partners on pension matters
- Conduct regular audits and prepare comprehensive financial reports for stakeholders
- Lead system enhancements to streamline pension administration processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) designation preferred
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS Section 401(a), and California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle HCM)
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting
- Proven track record of managing fiduciary responsibilities in public sector
