Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans for 1,200+ municipal employees
- Ensure compliance with IRS 415/436 limits and Kansas retirement statutes
- Conduct annual valuations and funding calculations using Milliman or similar systems
- Manage participant communications and retirement counseling sessions
- Coordinate with external auditors and investment consultants
- Develop participant educational materials on retirement planning
- Prepare IRS Form 5500s and annual funding notices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 3+ years pension plan administration or retirement services experience
- SPBC, QPA, or ASPPA certification strongly preferred
- Expertise in ERISA compliance and IRS retirement regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension administration software
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for participant interactions
- Kansas public sector pension experience highly valued
