Responsibilities
- Manage retirement plan administration including benefit calculations, distributions, and member communications
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, IRS, and California Pension Code requirements
- Analyze investment performance data and prepare actuarial reports for board review
- Develop and implement process improvements for member enrollment and claim handling
- Collaborate with legal counsel on plan amendments and fiduciary responsibilities
- Lead training sessions for employers and new plan participants
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience in public/government sector
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or ASPPA designation preferred
- Expertise in retirement plan compliance (ERISA, IRS 5500 filings)
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empyrean)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
