Responsibilities
- Manage daily administration of defined benefit pension plans including benefit calculations, distributions, and member communications
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Colorado state pension statutes
- Oversee member enrollment processes, record maintenance, and retirement counseling services
- Analyze pension fund performance and prepare regulatory reports for oversight committees
- Collaborate with investment teams on funding strategies and actuarial valuations
- Develop educational materials for participants regarding retirement options and benefits
- Conduct internal audits and implement process improvements for operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Colorado pension statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Parnassus)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling and actuarial concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for member interactions
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation highly desirable
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise fiduciary judgment
