Responsibilities
- Manage pension fund contributions, distributions, and participant records
- Ensure compliance with NYS Retirement & Social Security Law and ERISA regulations
- Analyze financial data to forecast fund liabilities and investment performance
- Process retirement applications and resolve complex participant inquiries
- Collaborate with investment teams on fund allocation strategies
- Generate quarterly reports for state oversight committees
- Conduct benefit calculations for vested employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and pension management software (e.g., Milliman, Enboard)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) preferred
- Deep knowledge of NYS pension regulations and IRS guidelines
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with remote work protocols and digital collaboration tools
