Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee pension plan operations including eligibility, contributions, and disbursements
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and IRS guidelines for retirement plans
- Prepare complex financial reports and actuarial analyses for pension fund sustainability
- Manage participant communications, inquiries, and educational workshops
- Collaborate with auditors and legal counsel for annual compliance reviews
- Implement system upgrades and process improvements for pension administration
- Monitor legislative changes affecting public pension systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience in public/government sector
- SPBC (Society of Pension Professionals) or CEBS certification preferred
- Advanced knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Texas pension laws
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Ascensus)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
