Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans ensuring compliance with ERISA, IRS, and Virginia state regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and distributions accurately
- Conduct regular audits and financial reporting for pension fund sustainability
- Advise state employees on retirement planning, investment options, and tax implications
- Collaborate with HR, finance, and legal teams on policy updates and system enhancements
- Manage vendor relationships for pension fund administration services

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience with public sector or large organizations
- SPDC, QKA, or CEBS certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Virginia pension statutes
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Oracle, ADP)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling and compliance auditing
