Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans including retirement calculations, benefit distributions, and member communications
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, CalPERS regulations, and internal fiduciary standards
- Analyze financial data to prepare actuarial reports, audits, and compliance documentation
- Develop and implement process improvements for pension administration efficiency
- Collaborate with legal, HR, and finance teams on pension-related initiatives
- Conduct benefit workshops and provide personalized retirement planning guidance
- Manage vendor relationships and technology systems supporting pension operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of pension plan administration experience in public sector
- Expertise in ERISA, CalPERS, and multi-employer retirement regulations
- Advanced proficiency with pension administration software (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation required
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution
