Responsibilities
- Manage and administer defined benefit pension plans for Georgia state employees
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and distribution schedules
- Ensure compliance with federal ERISA regulations and Georgia state statutes
- Conduct participant outreach and educational workshops on retirement planning
- Collaborate with actuarial teams for funding valuations and plan design analysis
- Maintain accurate participant records and generate comprehensive reporting
- Lead special projects for pension plan optimization and modernization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience with defined benefit plans
- SPBC or QPA certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, BenefitPoint)
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS Code 415, and Georgia retirement statutes
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to complex calculations
- Strong communication abilities for participant education and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to obtain and maintain Georgia government security clearance
