Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment, eligibility verification, and benefit calculations for public sector employees
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Kentucky state pension statutes
- Process retirement applications, disbursements, and coordinate with financial institutions
- Conduct benefit audits and prepare annual reports for oversight agencies
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding retirement planning and benefit options
- Collaborate with HR departments on policy updates and procedural improvements
- Maintain accurate participant records using pension administration software
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or financial planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and pension-specific software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Strong understanding of retirement regulations (ERISA, IRS 401(a), 403(b))
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in financial calculations
- Effective communication abilities for explaining complex benefit concepts
