Responsibilities
- Administer state pension plans ensuring compliance with ERISA, IRS, and Ohio Revised Code requirements
- Manage participant accounts, distributions, and retirement benefit calculations
- Develop and implement pension policy updates aligned with legislative changes
- Conduct financial forecasting and actuarial analysis for long-term fund sustainability
- Oversee audit processes and regulatory reporting for OPEB and retirement systems
- Train HR personnel on pension regulations and retirement planning procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension administration or retirement benefits experience
- Strong knowledge of federal/state pension regulations (ERISA, IRC 414, Ohio R.C. 742)
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with pension management software
- CPA, CFA, or SPHR certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience with government financial reporting systems
- Excellent analytical and communication skills for stakeholder interactions
