Responsibilities
- Oversee daily administration of the City's $250M pension fund portfolio
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and member communications
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Texas pension laws
- Conduct annual valuations and financial reporting for the Board of Trustees
- Manage vendor relationships with fund custodians and record-keepers
- Develop educational materials for employees regarding retirement planning
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- 5+ years of pension administration experience in government sector
- SPDC or QKA certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, UltiPro)
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS 415 limits, and Texas pension statutes
- Strong analytical skills with financial modeling experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage sensitive employee data with confidentiality
