Responsibilities
- Process pension enrollments, contributions, and distributions using municipal financial systems
- Verify member eligibility and calculate retirement benefits according to KY state guidelines
- Respond to participant inquiries via phone/email regarding pension plans and retirement options
- Maintain accurate pension records in compliance with ERISA and IRS regulations
- Assist in annual pension audits and reporting to KY Retirement Systems
- Collaborate with HR and payroll departments on employee retirement transitions
- Support data analysis for pension fund sustainability studies
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- 0-2 years of experience in benefits administration, payroll, or financial services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Strong attention to detail with numerical accuracy
- Ability to interpret complex pension regulations and legal documents
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Basic understanding of government accounting standards (GASB)
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background check
