Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment, eligibility verification, and retirement benefit calculations
- Process retiree payments and coordinate with external financial institutions
- Conduct compliance audits and ensure adherence to ERISA and IRS regulations
- Develop and maintain participant communication materials on retirement planning
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve complex pension inquiries
- Prepare quarterly reports for the pension board and regulatory bodies
- Implement system upgrades for pension administration software
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and California pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Albridge)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Government/public sector experience preferred
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or similar designation a plus
