Responsibilities
- Manage and administer the City's $2.5B pension fund portfolio during night shift hours
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and contribution allocations
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, IRS, and Washington State pension regulations
- Generate comprehensive financial reports and actuarial projections for leadership review
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance examinations
- Develop training materials for new retirees and plan participants
- Monitor pension investment performance and recommend portfolio adjustments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Actuarial Science (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience in public sector
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a), and RCW 41.50 regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Oracle HCM)
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
