Responsibilities
- Process Pension Claims: Review and verify incoming pension applications, ensuring all documentation meets compliance standards and state regulations.
- Data Integrity Management: Maintain and update member databases with high accuracy, performing nightly reconciliations to prevent discrepancies.
- Benefit Calculations: Calculate pension benefits, survivor benefits, and refunds based on established actuarial formulas and service records.
- Member Support: Assist retirees and beneficiaries with inquiries regarding eligibility, status, and account information via secure channels.
- Compliance Auditing: Conduct internal audits of night shift processes to ensure adherence to federal and state financial reporting guidelines.
- Shift Operations: Collaborate with the night shift team to prioritize urgent cases and maintain workflow efficiency during off-hours.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field preferred; High School Diploma with significant relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in pension administration, government benefits processing, or financial data analysis.
- Night Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel advanced) and experience with government case management software.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to detect errors in data and documentation while maintaining a high volume of work.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with the public and internal stakeholders.
