Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration of state pension plans, ensuring accurate and timely processing of member contributions and benefit requests.
- Conduct regular audits of pension records and financial statements to ensure compliance with state regulations and federal standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and active employees regarding pension inquiries, status updates, and benefit calculations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline pension processing workflows and improve system efficiency.
- Stay updated on changes in state pension laws, IRS regulations, and actuarial standards to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management regarding pension fund performance and member demographics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or a similar role within the public sector.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA, 401(k) plans, and state retirement systems is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) is mandatory.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including senior officials and the public.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced government environment.
