Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans per government regulations and ERISA guidelines
- Process retirement applications and benefit calculations with 99.9% accuracy
- Provide weekend customer support via phone/email for pension inquiries
- Conduct compliance audits and regulatory reporting for state agencies
- Collaborate with finance teams on portfolio performance analysis
- Maintain confidential participant records using SAP systems
- Develop educational materials for retirement planning workshops
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years pension administration experience in government sector
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation required
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SAP, and pension software systems
- Deep understanding of California PERS regulations and IRS codes
- Exceptional communication skills for complex benefit explanations
- Ability to work independently on weekend shifts (7am-3pm)
- Valid California driver's license for occasional travel
