Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans including eligibility calculations, benefit payments, and retirement counseling
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, CalPERS regulations, and municipal pension codes
- Analyze actuarial reports, investment portfolios, and funding strategies
- Prepare financial statements, disclosures, and regulatory filings
- Develop educational materials for employees regarding retirement benefits
- Collaborate with auditors, legal counsel, and investment advisors
- Implement system upgrades and process improvements for pension administration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration or benefits experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, CalPERS, and municipal pension regulations
- Proficiency in financial modeling, actuarial concepts, and data analysis
- Experience with pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Benefit Systems)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Pension Administration Certification (PAC) preferred
- Excellent communication skills for employee training and stakeholder engagement
